Anna da Silva Chen (Violin) & Daniel de Borah (Piano)

‘Three Sonatas’

Anna da Silva Chen is a young violinist making waves with her versality, artistic curiosity and virtuosity. She is in growing demand as a chamber musician with leading ensembles and as soloist with Australian orchestras and internationally.  Anna is joined by pianist, Daniel de Borah, whose impressive career has included guest appearances with orchestras in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. As a chamber musician, he has appeared at high profile festivals with Australia’s premiere musicians. This is a dream team.

Their program will explore the sonata form across a century and a half of tumultuous history. Beethoven’s much loved ‘Spring’ Sonata No. 5 in F Major was published in 1801. Schumann’s Sonata No. 1 in A minor was published 50 years later, then Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 1 in F minor was written across the Second World War years, nearly a century later. Share a journey across time and musical epochs in the company of these impressive artists.
